Whether you will use a gluten-free bread, a grain-free Paleo variety, or a beautiful Artisan loaf from your local baker… Toast is always a good idea! Growing up in England, tea&toast was a common event. Something we ate at least once daily. Immediately after giving birth to my Carter, a nurse breezed into the delivery room with a tray of steaming hot tea and toast !
Most commonly smeared with low quality butter and sugar filled jam, toast breakfast doesn’t really check all the nutritional boxes we need it to.
At our table we have been upgrading toast into yummy power-packed breakfasts.:
~Almond butter is much easier on your tummy to digest and gives a significant dose of both protein and calcium.
~Local and Raw Honey offers a break from seasonal allergies, fights of that summer cold, and brings a sweetness.
~Bananas are filled with Potassium and Magnesium, two essential minerals for mood stabilization and brain function.
This idea I share below is a favorite of mine, and the boys just love it!
